We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant position in Santa Barbara. This position is 100% onsite.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and process cash receipt transactions on a daily basis

• Carefully review all incoming bills for appropriate documentation and approval before payment

• Organizing and maintaining an effective filing system for current and archived documents to align with company policy and accepted accounting practices

• Assist in the administration of the corporate credit card program and manage weekly activities for staff credit card transactions

• Regularly prepare and distribute materials for internal and external reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis

• Participate in the annual budget and annual audit processes

• Process monthly and quarterly billings for various programs and grants

• Manage the onboarding and maintenance of vendor/supplier relationships by obtaining W-9 forms and keeping records up-to-date

• Prepare, distribute and file annuals 1099’s

• Assist in maintaining both on-site and off-site financial and client recordkeeping

• Regularly prepare and process bi-weekly payroll and maintain accurate payroll-related records.

Requirements

• Proficiency in using Paylocity software for payroll and HR tasks

• Experience handling fixed assets, including depreciation schedules and asset valuation

• Knowledge and experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas

• Experience managing accounts payable (AP), including invoice processing and payment

• Knowledge of accounts receivable (AR) processes, including billing and collections

• Ability to prepare and post journal entries accurately

• Experience with account reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards

• Skills in account analysis, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly

Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field required
