Amergis Staffing is currently seeking Travel GeneralEducation Teacher for the 2024/2025 school year in Goleta, CA and surroundingAreas. (Santa Barbara, Santa Ynez, Buelton, Carpinteria, Hope Ranch)
Position Details:
Pay: $23/hour
Start Date: August 2024
Hours PerWeek: 40 hours (8hrs/day)
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Length: 2024/2025 School Year
- Requirements: must obtain a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Following this, you need to complete a state-approved teacher preparation program, which includes coursework and practical training. Additionally, you must complete a student teaching placement, typically involving at least 600 hours of supervised teaching experience. Meeting the Basic Skills Requirement (BSR) is also essential, which can be done through various standardized tests or approved coursework. You will need to pass the required subject matter exams, such as the California Subject Examinations for Teachers (CSET), depending on your teaching focus. A background check, including fingerprinting, is mandatory to ensure the safety of students. Must have Child Development Permit.

The School Teacher implements the daily instructional plansof the classroom teacher in an effective manner. The School Teacher maintains aclass environment favorable to learning and personal growth and establisheseffective rapport with pupils while maintaining proper classroom management.The School Teacher works effectively with the building administrator and otherteachers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and attimes designated
Creates and implements the instructional plans in accordancewith the district curriculum
Maintains a classroom climate that is conducive tolearning
Maintains reasonable rules which encourage self-disciplineand responsibility
Guides the learning process toward the achievement of theschool curriculum and goals
Implements a variety of instructional techniques andinstructional media
Acquaints self with and adheres to the policies andprocedures as established by the Board of
Education and Administration in written or verbal form
Creates and implements response to Intervention programs asneeded
Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protectstudents, equipment, materials, and facilities
Maintains records as required by law, district policy, andadministrative regulations
Assists the administration in implementing all policies andrules governing student life and conduct
Services as a positive role model for students,demonstrating professionalism that includes a positive attitude, positive andrespectful communication, and professional appearance
Holds and communicates high expectations of studentachievement and behavior
Attends staff meetings and IEP Meetings as requested by thedistrict
Meets expected standards of professional behavior
Administers assessments on a timely basis as directed byadministration
Communicates effectively with parents when needed
Provides individualized and small group instruction asprescribed in the daily instructional plans
Maintains a professional and positive rapport withparents/co-workers/administration/School Board
Supervises classroom students, paraprofessionals andvolunteers
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher required
Teacher license/certification, as applicable by state orcontract/district
One year of experience as a school teacher, preferred
Willingness and ability to accept direct responsibility forsafety, wellbeing, or work output of other people
Ability to read and implement instructional plans,correspond with parents and administration, and effectively present informationand respond to questions from administration, parent, students, staff members,and the general public as requested
Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts
Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicable
Current CPR if applicable
TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site
Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements
Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required
Computer proficiency required
Must be at least 18 years of age
