Job Title: Quality Inspector

Job Description

Two Quality Control Inspectors needed for electronics manufacturer in Santa Ana, CA. Shift will be a day shift from 5am-3:30pm Monday-Thursday with overtime available on Fridays. Pay will be between $20-$27 an hour and based on experience.

The Production Inspector performs routine visual, mechanical, and electrical inspection of printed circuit boards, systems, and sub-assemblies at various stages of production to ensure quality compliance with required standards. Ideally looking for experience in electronics but also able to train if needed.

Responsibilities

  • Work from detailed Process Sheets, Visual Aid Packages, Engineering Change Orders, Production Change Notices, Critical Item List, and other relevant written instructions.

  • Inspect for proper positioning of components, soldering, markings, and other quality requirements related to various manufacturing technologies, including touch-up or defects found during inspection.

  • Obtain the appropriate paperwork and necessary drawings for each job assignment and verify the paperwork as the correct effective date.

  • Verify placement, polarity, and labels on circuit boards.

  • Use Defect Code List to identify defects and route boards to rework/repair facilities.

  • Perform minimal rework/repair duties as necessary.

  • Perform minimal hand solder operations on printed circuit board assemblies.

  • Complete necessary routing tasks per procedure.

  • Enter board and/or systems quantities into the Baan ERP system.

  • Input data into PFS.

  • Perform duties under close supervision.

  • Check configuration on all assemblies.

  • Participate in providing timely feedback to other operations, management, and support engineering as appropriate.

  • Follow and maintain accurate process documentation and recommend improvements.

  • Comply with and follow all company policies and procedures.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of Quality Inspection experience, preferably in electronics.

  • Blueprint/Schematic reading.

  • Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

  • Familiarity with standards like IPC 610 and J Standard.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in basic electronics manufacturing.

  • May perform tasks such as PIR, WPI, FPI, AOI.

  • 2+ years of advanced electronics inspection experience (e.g., AOI).

  • Ability to work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of various factors.

  • Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

  • Build productive internal and external working relationships.

  • Utilize optical equipment to determine the acceptability of components and solder.

  • Operate the Nicolet X-ray machine and other sophisticated inspection equipment and interpret the results.

  • Utilize a majority of the inspection tools available on the production floor.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00
