We are seeking a Construction Controller to join our team in the construction industry located in Santa Ana, California. This role will primarily focus on overseeing the company's financial records and managing the accounting personnel. The Controller will be responsible for maintaining all procedures and controls associated with the company's financial accounts.

Responsibilities:

• Develop performance measures that align with the company's strategic direction

• Maintain a comprehensive system of accounting policies and procedures

• Oversee the operations of the accounting department to achieve the department's goals

• Monitor cash balances and forecasts, including assisting with Accounts Payable review

• Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions

• Issue timely and complete financial statements

• Coordinate the preparation of the consolidated annual report

• Manage the annual budget and forecasts & management reports production process

• Oversee month-end and year-end close process

• Manage all accounting operations including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition

• Research technical accounting issues for compliance

• Oversee insurance and contractor licenses with CSLB

• Ensure Fixed Asset Schedules are maintained

• Ensure inventory counts are performed

• Review monthly bank reconciliations

• Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants

• Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

• Additional controller duties as necessary.

Skills required:

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services

• Familiarity with DCAA

• Knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Ability to work with ERP Solutions

• Experience in managing Accounting Functions

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in Auditing

• Familiarity with Budget Processes.

Requirements • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller role or similar position

• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems and ADP - Financial Services

• Knowledge of DCAA, ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, and ERP Solutions is required

• Demonstrated experience in managing Accounting Functions

• Proficient in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in Auditing and Budget Processes is essential

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is required

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• Strong analytical and strategic planning skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Must possess strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity

• Ability to think creatively and develop effective strategies for financial issues

• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
