The Sanford Production facility, one of the largest facilities within Coty, produces Skin Care, Nail and Fragrance products in our luxury and consumer goods categories. At our production facilities the focus is on the safety of our employees and the quality of the products we produce. The facility works in the fast-paced beauty industry requiring individuals to take the lead on projects and execute them with excellence. Each member of the manufacturing team adds value by delivering the best balance of service, cost, and sustainability that deliver the Company’s corporate objectives.
The role of the Shift leader is to lead the shift daily by scheduling the employees to maximize output and achieve the production plan. They will assist the Production Manager in delivering the daily requirements for the shift.
THE ROLE
In this role you will be responsible for:
Coordinates production plan for the shift, while ensuring adherence to plant procedures and standards.
Serve as first point of contact in advanced troubleshooting on a daily basis. Including developing robust problem statements for root cause problem solving.
Ensure onboarding and training of new employees on their shifts.
Provides feedback to Production Manager regarding Operators and temporary employees (performance - skills, knowledge, behavior), including input for training plans.
Coordinate staffing plan for the shift ensuring vacation coverage is adequate for production.
Review work orders for TAL and Inventory accuracy; resolve discrepancies to root cause.
Key Success Measures:
Delivery of daily safety performance, ensuring safety systems are executed and 5S Standards are adhered to.
All products are produced within Quality specifications, and all deviations from specifications are investigated.
Production requirements are delivered in the right quantity and at the right time.
Production meets the scrap targets for all raw materials and components.
Staffing and Cost targets are achieved for scheduled production runs.
Leading the Team:
Coaches employees consistently on safety, quality, and production processes.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively under pressure.
Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team.
Lead the culture of following standards at the plant.
Lead shift handover meetings to ensure continuity between shifts.
Continuous Improvement:
Identifying inefficiencies and implementing solutions to improve productivity and reduce waste.
Update plant standards and procedures when they do not exist or are not clear enough.
Project Management:
Ensure the Initiative Management process is followed when executing Line Trials, including the proper resourcing is on the line.
Validating production lines are ready to run after handover of initiatives or engineering products.
Assist manager in selecting team members for projects.
People Leadership:
- 8 to 40 Indirect reports per shift

QUALIFICATIONS
We’d love to see candidates who have:
Essential:
Experience in Manufacturing with strong knowledge of Safety and Quality (GMP) Fundamentals.
Line Operator Experience preferred.
Leadership Skills
Strong communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Effective time management to balance various tasks and responsibilities.
