Clean Harbors Facility Maintenance Manager in Sanford, North Carolina

We have an exciting opportunity available as we are looking for a Facility Maintenance Manager at our Sanford, NC facility. The manager will perform hands on maintenance activities specializing in mechanical applications, and supervises a multi-shift, multi-trade maintenance department.

  • Supervision of all maintenance employees and shifts.

  • Performs more than one of these following functions, Welding, Pipe fitting, Mechanic, Electrical, and Preventative maintenance planning, Purchasing, and Spare parts/Critical parts inventory management.

  • Maintains facility/plant equipment through Preventive Maintenance management systems. Assures proper preventative maintenance of all plant equipment.

  • Responsible for all personnel related functions for maintenance employees, including, but not limited to, hiring, firing, and performance appraisals.

  • Maintains all plant equipment and systems and participates in procurement of equipment and supplies.

  • Assures all contractor agreement forms and safety training is complete for outside contractors.

  • Operates a forklift, when necessary, Responsible for performing and documenting daily safety checklist prior to operating.

  • Ensures that work meets all applicable Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures, holds employees accountable.

  • Ensures, understands and has ownership for area specific required compliance standards.

  • Reviews all applicable SOP’s and satisfactorily completes quizzes.

  • Determines time frames and allocation of resources for projects and follows up to ensure production goals are met, schedules all work.

  • Supervises administrative aspects of supply management. (PO’s, invoice reconciliation, record keeping, etc.).

  • Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment.

  • Understands and drives Clean Compliance Standard.

  • Other Duties as Assigned.

  • High School diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

  • 5-7 years’ relevant experience

  • Knowledge of all plant mechanical and electrical equipment and applications.

  • Ability to assemble components and parts as required by manufacturers.

  • Proficiency in Windows-based applications.

  • Ability to work in team environment.

  • Leadership skills.

  • Certified welder, mechanic or pipe fitting certificate required.

  • Forklift certification required.

  • Proficient in more than one of the following functions: welding, pipe fitting, mechanic, electrical, PLC troubleshooting/programming.

  • Must be able to climb, stoop, bend, stand for long periods and lift up to 50lbs.
