Server System Architect (aka AE System Lead)/ Principal Engineer
The Server System Architect will play a key role in planning and executing the architectural requirements for various projects. This individual will be responsible for working on pre-concept and concept evaluations, feasibility studies, and engaging in new technology studies. The architect will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, supply chain partners, and external stakeholders to define requirements, analyze costs, and deliver innovative server solutions.

We are looking for a skilled and innovative Server System Architect to join our team, someone who can help drive our technology roadmap and lead the development of world-class products
Key Responsibilities
Architecture Development: Create and maintain architecture requirements for iterative projects. Plan creatively and stay ahead of technology trends.
Behavior Specifications & Design Leverage Matrix: Ensure accurate documentation and ongoing updates of the Behavior Spec and Design Leverage Matrix.
Commodity Roadmap Development: Collaborate with the SC team and Product Management (PdM) to build and maintain the Server Technology Roadmap and Commodity Strategy Roadmap.
Technology Investigation: Conduct feasibility studies, Proof of Concepts (PoCs), and technology investigations to evaluate new technologies for integration.
Customer Engagement: Participate in early RFI/RFP/RFQ engagements, providing timely responses and customer interactions as needed.
Pre-Concept/Concept Work: Assist in early evaluations and feasibility studies, assessing potential designs and technologies.
Material Cost Analysis: Engage in material cost analysis to ensure cost-effective solutions.
Supply Chain & Industry Engagement: Engage with supply chain partners and attend industry forums and conferences to stay updated on commodity vendor roadmaps (drives, DIMMs, NICs, etc.).
Front-End Activities: Support business opportunities by delivering flexible and fast technical data.
New Technology Implementation: Ensure safe implementation of new technology features in coordination with the BU and project teams.

Broad Knowledge Base: Deep understanding of design specifications within the server domain, with experience in overall architecture for products and solutions.
NRE Estimation: Capable of providing high-level NRE estimates and timelines for projects.
Abstract Requirements: Comfortable working with abstract requirements and capable of hardening them into actionable plans

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Qualifications
Proven experience in server system architecture and design.
Strong knowledge of white box servers and experience with ODM/JDM models is preferred.
Demonstrated experience in feasibility studies, PoCs, and architecture work.
Familiarity with technology roadmaps and commodity strategies.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams..
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Masters degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
Minimum of 15 years of related experience and/or training
Minimum of 5 years experience as a Lead Engineer
Specific requirements as defined by the market sector
Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
