General Description
SUNY Niagara has an immediate need for a part time Radiologic Technology Program Technical Assistant for Radiologic Technology program within our Nursing & Allied Health Division.
This position will be responsible for the instruction, supervision and evaluation of the laboratory experience. May assist in lecture demonstrations as necessary. Will also assist in the compilation of data pertinent to the program and College for assessment.
The rate of pay is based on the level of education the candidate possesses. For a Bachelor’s degree or lower the rate of pay will be $21.22 per hour. For a Master’s degree or higher the rate of pay will be $23.34 per hour.
In order to build and maintain an active pool of qualified candidates to meet our present and future needs for this position, SUNY Niagara will accept applications on a continuous basis. Typical Work Activities
Participates in college laboratory activities:
Demonstrates radiographic procedures
Guides and assists students in the practice of radiographic procedures
Evaluates students’ performance of radiographic procedures
Conducts image analysis
Supervises the radiologic technology laboratories and reports any malfunctions to the program coordinator
Maintains an inventory of supplies and equipment
In case of an accident/incident in the college laboratory area:
Send student to Wellness Center
Inform Program Coordinator/Division Chairperson as soon as possible
Assists in compilation of data pertinent to the Radiologic Technology Program and College for assessment purposes.
Assumes divisional and college duties and responsibilities.
Other duties as assigned by AVPAA for NAH
Essential Functions
Must be able to operate computers; must be able to relate to a diverse population of students; must be able to relate to faculty, staff, and senior members of the administration; must be able to communicate verbally and in writing; must be able to prepare written reports and presentations using technology; must be able to physically perform the functions of the position; must be able to work a flexible schedule.
Required Qualifications
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program
• Holds current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist ( ARRT ) certification or equivalent
• Holds current New York State Department of Health Licensure in radiography
