Our rapidly growing, innovative start-up tech company is seeking an experienced and talented Accounting Manager for a 100% remote role. The ideal candidate must possess robust Accounts Payable (AP) skills, alongside a desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment typical of tech start-ups. You will be the principal manager for all AP processes, and play a critical role in establishing our financial infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily functions of the accounting department, particularly in Accounts Payable (AP), financial reporting, and monthly closing process.
Implement and maintain effective internal financial controls.
Deliver timely and accurate financial reports and forecasts.
Work collaboratively with other team members to drive financial and operational metrics.
Promote efficiency by developing new processes and enhancing current financial systems.
Comply with all local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Manager to join our team in San Ramon, California. As an Accounting Manager, you will be working in the technology industry, primarily managing different aspects of accounting such as accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and assisting with month-end close activities. This role is entirely remote, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee accounts payable procedures and ensure they are carried out accurately and promptly
• Perform bank reconciliations regularly to maintain accurate financial records
• Provide assistance during month-end close activities, ensuring all financial data is captured and reported correctly
• Utilize various software including QuickBooks, bill.com, NetSuite, and Navan for accounting and financial purposes
• Collaborate with the staff accountant on tasks related to A/R and order to cash
• Liaise with an outsourcing company to ensure smooth operations and effective communication
• Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions based on account status
• Process customer credit applications with precision and speed, maintaining the company's high standards
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate customer credit records, ensuring all information is readily available when needed
Requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience managing AP processes.
Previous experience in a start-up and/or tech environment preferred.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a remote team.
Proficiency in the latest accounting software and tech-related financial tools.
