Job Title: Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller (Funds/Investor Reporting)

Location: San Francisco (Hybrid 3 days in)

Salary: $145-$175k + Bonus + Unlimited PTO

Company Overview: Our client, a successful multi-disciplinary real estate investment firm, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join their dedicated team. Responsibilities:

Daily/Weekly:

  • Perform investment vehicle level cash analysis

  • Approve payables/expenditure workflows (NEXUS-AP system, Paymode-X/Kyriba-payment processing & MRI-GL system)

  • Respond to internal and external inquiries promptly

Monthly:

  • Consolidate and reconcile investment accounts for various Funds, Separate Accounts, Joint Ventures, and Co-Investments

  • Supervise the preparation of monthly reports for various investment vehicles

  • Provide oversight and support for the team

    Requirements

Quarterly:

  • Lead the quarter-end close process

  • Prepare and finalize quarterly investor reporting packages

  • Maintain REITs where applicable

Annually:

  • Prepare financial packages for auditors

  • Prepare financial packages for tax accountants

In addition:

  • Collaborate with various teams on ad hoc projects

  • Assist in accounting analysis on acquisitions and dispositions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minimum of 5 years of accounting work experience

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook is required

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Experience with MRI and Juniper Square (preferred)

  • Exceedingly well-organized, flexible, and have strong follow-through
