Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.

  • Associate’s degree in Human Development and Family Sciences or related fields (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, Criminal Justice) OR a high school diploma plus an equivalent of 4+ years work experience with under-served adolescents/young adults

  • Practice experience with under-served populations

  • Evidence of interpersonal and networking skills

  • Evidence of excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Experience prioritizing and organizing assigned tasks

  • Experience working independently

  • Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Human Development and Family Sciences or related fields (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, Criminal Justice)

  • First-hand lived experience with or directly impacted by adolescent pregnancy and parenting

  • Bilingual English/Spanish oral and written skills strongly preferred.

  • Experience working with monolingual or bilingual Spanish-speaking youth in individual or group settings, strongly preferred.

  • Public speaking skills.

  • Experience with case management.

  • Experience implementing relationship education, job readiness, and/ or financial literacy programs.

  • Supervisory experience.

Job Description

Responsible for providing professional support to the Strengthening Relationships/Strengthening Families (SR/SF) Programhttps://www.fcs.txst.edu/srsf.html

  • SR/SF teaches relationship and life skills through two evidence-based curricula to pregnant and/or parenting adolescents at 10-12 high schools across Central Texas.

  • Grant Specialist will be based at two high schools in the San Marcos /Seguin area.

  • Beginning January 2025, Grant Specialist will administer the SR/SF Program at two assigned sites.

  • Travel to assigned sites 4 days/week. Some remote work.

  • Grant Specialist will identify, recruit, and enroll students into the program.

  • Grant Specialist will also participate in data collection from students via required surveys under the terms of our federal award.

  • Grant Specialist will work with our program partners (school staff, nonprofits) to effectively administer the program.

Job Duties

  • Maintain comprehensive records. Implement relationship education, job readiness, and financial literacy skills to pregnant and parenting adolescents.

  • Complete intake assessments. Provide case management.

  • Conduct home visits.

  • Develop a referral network for pregnant and parenting adolescents.

  • Train and supervise student interns. Evaluate intern performance. Assist with performance assessments.

  • Coordinate activities with school partners, student interns, staff, and faculty.

  • Document and record services provided by project.

  • Establish contacts with community and relevant university academic units.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
