BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a eHW Senior Mechanical Design Engineer.In this role, and under direct supervision of the Power Electronics Mechanical Design Engineering Supervisor, the eHW Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will technically Lead the Mechanical Design Team of Hybrid/Electric Inverter and Converter Systems for various global automotive customers.

Key responsibilities

  • Mechanical design of Hybrid/Electric Inverter and Converter Systems

  • Powertrain, Driveline and Packaging of electronics and Circuit Boards

  • Design mechanical components in compliance with the BorgWarner Specs of Design

  • Design Mechanical product and components to meet customer specifications

  • Perform, lead and couch mechanical analysis and verification

  • Thermal Management

  • Vibration Capability

  • Thermal Shock

  • Tolerance Stack

  • Document Mechanical design based on ASPICE process.

  • Develop and interface with supply base in support of program needs and purchasing initiatives

  • Interface with customer as needed

  • Provide written and oral presentations as needed

  • Follow a structured problem-solving approach to resolve issues

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering (or related)

  • Minimum 7+ years - Mechanical hardware design experience

  • 3Y Automotive Electronics experience is highly preferred

  • Experience with automotive environmental and durability requirements

  • Experience with NX or similar CAD applications

  • Experience with analysis tools (preferred)

  • Familiar with requirements gathering and management tools such as Polarion and JIRA.

  • Excellent soft skills and highly exposed to teamwork.

  • Mentors the less experienced; role model for BW Beliefs

  • Process focused on high communication skills.
