ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and evaluate disk drive system components using CAD and FEA
- Develop next generation suspension actuators through finite-element based simulation and dynamics optimization
- Create suspension 3d models and 2d prints for internal usage and vendors part order, communications, etc.
- Plan and execute laboratory evaluations, perform data analysis, and report findings
- Conduct tolerance analyses, optimize designs, and perform failure analyses to develop innovative solutions
- Manage supplier relationships and processes, working closely with internal manufacturing teams
- Collaborate with development, manufacturing engineering, and procurement teams to drive project success
Qualifications
REQUIRED
- BS, MS or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related field, minimum 10 years of experience in related fields.
- Highly skilled in finite element modeling and analysis; Ansys experience preferred.
- Proficient in 3D CAD software and fundamental mechanical design engineering
- Familiarity with test instrumentation such as LDVs, structural dynamic analyzers, and accelerometers
SKILLS
- Experience in FEA based design optimization, piezoelectric actuators/sensors, MEMS devices is a plus
- Effective problem-solving skills, creativity, and a knack for innovation
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team spirit
