Robert Half Technical Accounting Consultant in San Jose, California

Description

We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Technical Accounting Consultant for one of our clients based in San Jose, California. This position plays a pivotal role in our team, where you will manage Technical Accounting, General Ledger, Payroll, Accounts Payable, SEC Reporting and Stock Administration.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and interpret US GAAP and SEC regulations, providing technical accounting guidance.

  • Lead the implementation of new accounting standards and pronouncements.

  • Prepare and review technical accounting memos for complex transactions, including revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, goodwill, disclosure expenses, leases, and business combinations.

  • Support quarterly and annual SEC reporting, including 10-Q, 10-K, and earnings releases.

  • Ensure compliance with SOX internal controls and maintain proper documentation for audits.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including FP& A, tax, legal, and external auditors.

  • Assist in the consolidation process for multiple entities.

  • Provide guidance on accounting policy development and process improvements.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required.

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a mix of public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and industry experience.

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance.

  • Experience with technical accounting research and writing accounting position papers.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or NetSuite).

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Semiconductor industry experience is a plus.
