Senior Principal Analog Design Engineer
onsemi is seeking a Senior Principal Analog design Engineer, NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT, Power Management, to join our growing team in San Jose, California. This group is responsible for development of Power management products including DC-DC PMIC/POL, Multiphase controllers, Dr. MOS, AC-DC converters, LED drivers, SiC drivers, Switches and efuses for consumer, industrial and automotive applications.
Minimum Requirements
BS in Electrical Engineering or related + 12 years of experience, or MS + 10 years of experience
Solid track record of delivering multiple complex IPs to manufacturing
Extensive knowledge of engineering processes, principles, and methodologies
Goal and outcome-focused with the ability to handle multiple projects within the team
Ability to attract and retain key engineering talent
Experience in simplifying complex problems into smaller problems and solving them as a team
Good understanding of various Power Converters such as Buck, Boost, LDOs, gate drivers, comparators, linear regulators gm-stage and relevant Analog building blocks
Good understanding of topologies and architectures for Constant-on-time, Peak, and Valley Current Mode, Voltage Mode, Multi-Phase Controllers, and Smart Power Stages
Good understanding of DC-DC PMIC/POL, Multiphase controllers, Dr. MOS, AC-DC converters, LED drivers, SiC devices and drivers
Strong Analog IC design skills, debug of complex silicon problems using simulations and/or bench testing
Familiarity with advanced Bipolar, CMOS, and High Voltage BCD technology, Process, Device Physics, Semiconductor Manufacturing processes, and their impact on Analog performance
understanding of large power transistor (LDMOS) Design, Layout, and Robustness
Proficiency in leading-edge design and verification tools such as Simplis or MATLAB for architectural simulations, Cadence Spectre for schematic capture, simulation, layout, and tape-out
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to quickly ramp on new systems and processes
Demonstrated strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $139,000-$237,000 exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
