Power Integrations Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer in San Jose, California
Sr. IT Infrastructure Engineer
Reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager and in close association with the Network Infrastructure team, the Sr. IT Infrastructure Engineer will provide advanced technical skills in PI’s storage and compute infrastructure:
Document, stabilize, maintain and optimize the storage and server infrastructure world-wide
Architect and scope required hardware, software, storage and network environments for existing and future requirements and projects.
Prepare detailed project proposals and budgets and oversee and manage implementation.
Assist in identifying and vetting key vendors and technologies to improve efficiency and drive down costs.
Comfortable and capable explaining technology and business requirements to internal cross-functional stakeholders and vendors alike.
Follow and enhance IT Governance activities, including SOX audits and CSF/ISO certifications
Available and comfortable for infrequent travel (including international) to remote data centers and points of service.
Responsibilities and Activities
This role will provide hands on Infrastructure support, on-call L2 support and support for escalated issues from other IT team members as well as other cross-functional departments. You will resolve implementation and integration issues and communicate system requirements to meet business objectives.
Extensive hands on experience and expertise with the majority of our server and storage technology stack including:
Commvault Enterprise Backup
Rubrik Cloud Data Management
EMC VNX and EMC Isilon
Dell VRTX
Nutanix Hyperconverged Infrastructure
Dell Power Vault (Direct attach and iSCSI)
Windows Server (all versions) familiarity
Microsoft Exchange, Exchange Online
Microsoft SharePoint
Microsoft Azure/Office 365
Amazon Web Services Infrastructure
Enterprise monitoring platforms such as PRTG
Additional Desired Capabilities:
Understand how technologies are integrated to produce efficient and effective business outcomes for all stakeholders is a key requirement.
Proven ability to develop and improve the Infrastructure’s security posture at all layers.
Successfully designed and delivered multiple Infrastructure projects for an International company.
Knowledge of industry Best Practices
How to rationalize and communicate Costs vs. Benefits and stick to the agreed on budget
Effectively communicate, cooperate and collaborate across the both organization and our vendors
Experience:
The candidate has at least 8 Years of growing hands on IT skills and responsibility in specifying, implementing, monitoring and operating complex IT infrastructures, preferably in a multi-national company. The candidate will be highly knowledgeable with enterprise grade storage, backup, and compute systems, large Isilon installations, Nutanix HCI, Dell VRTX, and stand-alone hosts running Windows and Linux guests on a Cisco network.
Education:
A 4-year technical degree or equivalent experience with ongoing technical classes and training.
Certification in any of the above technologies a plus.
Power Integrations is committed to building teams that drive innovation and therefore review a range of factors when determining compensation. The annual base pay range for this position is $114,474 - $168,596. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, qualifications and work location.
The range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position in California. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
