As an FW Architect at Micron, you'll be at the forefront of developing world-class controller firmware for groundbreaking non-volatile storage systems. This outstanding opportunity allows you to collaborate with top-tier ASIC and NAND teams to deliver flawless solutions for the Enterprise and Cloud marketplace. Your work will be pivotal in meeting ambitious performance, QoS, and reliability requirements, enabling us to successfully implement products on schedule.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
Solve system-level technical challenges through architected solutions.
Validate customer requirements and derive architectures to meet or exceed those requirements.
Develop new tools and methods to test and verify architectural decisions.
Follow and improve architecture and design processes/procedures and workflows, crafting high-quality documentation to enable development teams.
Engage in modeling, firmware coding, simulation results analysis, failure analysis, ASIC/FPGA-based bring-up/debug, and documentation.
Conduct analysis of functional or performance issues in firmware and hardware in test environments or target host systems.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience in the storage industry, with an emphasis on SSDs and NAND flash.
Expertise in designing high-performance, QoS architectures within controlled latency environments.
Proven understanding of firmware development, verification, system failure analysis, embedded systems design, and real-time embedded systems.
Outstanding problem-solving and debugging skills, including the ability to find creative solutions to sophisticated problems.
In-depth knowledge of storage interfaces, particularly PCIe and NVMe, and proficiency with protocol analyzers.
Familiarity with current innovations in firmware development, profiling tools, and real-world applications.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively (both written and verbal) across multiple locations and teams.
Working knowledge and experience with ARC/ARM Microprocessors and multi-core SoCs.
Understanding of server architecture, virtualization technologies, and knowledge of emerging data center trends like CXL.
Education and Experience:
15+ years of proven experience in embedded firmware architecture and development.
Bachelor's, Master's, or equivalent experience.
The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:
$205,000.00 - $360,000.00
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
