Position Overview:

We seek a visionary Vice President of Engineering to join our leadership team in the Bay Area. This role requires a dynamic and seasoned leader with deep technical expertise and a proven track record of managing high-performing engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of engineering experience, a strong background in coding, and a willingness to engage directly with code when necessary.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and enhance software solutions that align with the company's strategic goals.

  • Lead, mentor, and expand a team of talented engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.

  • Drive the development and implementation of engineering processes and practices that ensure the delivery of high-quality software.

  • Collaborate with other senior leaders across the company to align engineering strategies with business objectives.

  • Manage the engineering budget and effectively allocate resources to maximize productivity and innovation.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating them into strategic planning when beneficial.

  • Act as a technical and business mentor to team members, aiding in their professional growth and development.

  • Lead by example, not shying away from diving into coding tasks, and instilling a hands-on approach within the team.

     

    Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in software engineering, with significant leadership responsibilities.

  • Expertise in designing and building robust, scalable software systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire engineering teams.

  • Strong coding skills and the willingness to roll up sleeves and code alongside the team.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.

  • Experience with agile development methodologies and implementing engineering best practices.

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and collaborate with diverse teams.
