Public Buildings Service Supervisory Project Manager in San Francisco, California

Summary As a Supervisory Project Manager, you will supervise the Administrative Support Branch, serving as the Deputy Director for the Design and Construction Division (D&C), and act in the absence of the Division Director overseeing the design and construction of major capital programs and projects. Location of position: Public Buildings Service, D&C, located in San Francisco, CA. We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed. Responsibilities The Supervisory Project Manager assists the Director in overseeing the execution of design and construction of major capital programs and projects. Assists in the direction, coordination, and supervision of the activities of projects program in the areas of pre-project planning, scheduling, design, estimating, construction management, construction, project execution, safety, and project close-out. The incumbent will work to enforce standard operating procedures and the use of all applicable best practices and tools. Advises the Division Director and other upper management team members on issues affecting projects and Project Management programs, providing authoritative advice and information. Duties involve substantive interaction with other programs. The Supervisory Project Manager leads the Administrative Support branch for the Division, with staff ranging from a GS-03 to a GS-14 level; which provides administrative and coordination support to program and project managers to deliver the mission. Assists Director in determining what personnel, financial, and material resources are needed to accomplish the mission of the Design and Construction Division and justifying these decisions. Develops and implements strategies to establish and maintain training and development of Design and Construction Division (D&C) staff. Creates opportunities to encourage employee engagement and promote staff participation in learning and team building activities. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected. To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience supervising or managing a branch, section or organization that includes strategic planning, operations management, business development, and/or service delivery. Experience should include managing multiple programs and projects, financial management, acquisition planning, real estate, repair or alterations of space, architectural and construction design of buildings or complexes.
