Uber Staff Software Engineer, TLM in San Francisco, California

About The Role

The Delivery Presentation Platform is looking for a Staff TLM. We are working on a Web platform that powers Uber Eats' primary Feed along with other key surfaces. This role is for an individual that will both help set the vision for this platform as well as manage the execution of various projects that contribute to achieving our objectives.

An ideal candidate will be working closely with other engineering leaders, define the vision of this new service, contribute meaningful amounts of code & help build a strong, scalable and easy to use platform.

What the Candidate Will Do

  • Design & build a high quality & efficient web service.

  • Advocate for, design & build client side frameworks to provide generalized solutions to common UI/UX patterns.

  • Collaborate with Eng leaders across the org to ensure our platform meets their teams' needs.

  • Manage a team of 5+ engineers & their projects

  • Contribute technically (design, GoLang, HTML, CSS, JS)

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience leading teams - including relationship building and collaboration with partners & stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to manage the execution of large, multi-month projects.

  • Strong understanding of the web & related technologies/methodologies.

  • "Expert" level full-stack engineer (web & backend).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with various, popular technologies & methods.

  • Built platforms that increase developer velocity and are a pleasure to use.

  • Experience leading small to medium sized teams.

  • Strong understanding of the inner workings of Web Frameworks (both server & client side).

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$218,000 per year - USD$242,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
