WSP USA Senior Vice President, Communications and Public Involvement in San Francisco, California

This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for the Advisory & Planning Communications and Public Involvement Managing Director. Be involved in projects with our Advisory & Planning (A&P) Business Line and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

The A&P Communications and Public Involvement (CPI) Managing Director is responsible for driving top line growth across the Communications and Public Involvement business in service of WSP's Transportation & Infrastructure, Earth & Environment, Property & Buildings, Power & Energy, Program Management and Federal business lines.

The A&P CPI Managing Director is a member of A&P's Executive Leadership Team reporting directly to the Advisory Lead. The CPI team is comprised of over 100 professionals in more than 30 offices who work with clients across the country to engage communities and bring the public’s vision for a project to life.

Your Impact

  • Leads CPI operations and staff for the US.

  • Oversees project delivery, business line operations, and performance metrics for CPI including direct labor, indirect labor, fringe, operating expenditures, and more.

  • Prepares and gives briefings and presentations of CPI's services to WSP US leaders across the firm

  • Prepares and gives briefings and presentations of CPI's services to clients, government officials, industry representatives.

  • Stays abreast of industry changes and requirements, policies, procedures, and legislation.

  • Analyzes local, state and national trends, policies and/or legislation to determine impact.

  • Provides information and support to governmental officials, clients, users and the public.

  • Represents the firm's CPI services at local, state, and national levels.

  • Provides and demonstrates leadership, clear communication, mentoring, and empowerment of staff.

  • Tracks and coordinates pursuits.

  • Advises the CPI managers on administrative, technical, and regulatory aspects of communications and public involvement.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years experience managing a communication and public involvement team

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in communications, marketing, and/or public involvement, including at least 8 years of successful experience in developing client relationships and business.

  • Proven ability to model and adhere to WSP policies related to travel, hiring, budgeting and management

  • Ability to build positive relationships with employees that lead to productivity and retention

  • Empowering leadership style

  • Ability to work well with the public and interact effectively with all organizational levels, including agency staff, senior management, executive leadership, board members, community leaders, and city/county/state representatives.

  • Excellent verbal, writing, and presentation skills.

  • Bachelor's Degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree

  • Experience with managing profit and loss and metrics.

  • Strategic planning experience

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $160,100 - $393,900

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.

Expected Salary (Colorado only): $160,100- $302,500

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
