Clark Construction Group, LLC Safety Coordinator (Fall 2024/ Spring 2025) - SF in San Francisco, California

The Safety Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of thousands of team members on our jobsites each day. Whether working in general construction or one of our affiliate companies, you’ll work alongside Clark leaders to advance our policies, programs, and procedures governing safe work practices and promote our 24/7 culture of care.

Overview

Implementing safe working practices and ensuring the well-being of everyone is a core value of Clark. Safety coordinators are responsible for assisting in the administration of Clark’s Safety, Health and Environmental program to ensure a safe and healthy environment for Clark employees, trade contractors, and the surrounding community.

Responsibilities

  • Enforcing corporate and project-specific safety and health programs as well as federal, state, and local safety standards

  • Promote a positive safety culture through coaching and educating to Clark employees and trade contractors on occupation health and safety requirements

  • Develop and implement project-specific safety program

  • Identify potential hazards and provide immediate input, advice, and direction to mitigate hazardous conditions and assure compliance

  • Conduct site-walks and report project-specific safety performance and future plans

  • Working closely with field supervision to plan complex safety aspects of the project construction, including critical lifts, hazardous material handling, fire prevention, and evacuation

  • Coordinating third-party safety reviews, including OSHA

Additional Responsibilities

  • Cultivate a network of industry relationships to bring potential business opportunities to Clark leadership

  • Cultivate industry relationships to help attract and recruit top talent to Clark. A mindset of "All team members are recruiters"

  • Exceed our stakeholders’ expectations by anticipating their needs, desires, and goals

Basic Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in occupational health and safety, construction management, engineering, or a related field, with an expected graduation in either Winter 2024 or Spring 2025

  • Passion and interest in the construction industry

Preferred Qualifications

  • Commitment to safety and the ability to anticipate and solve problems, manage risk, and analyze project needs to deliver high-quality outcomes

  • Ability to build interpersonal relationships with internal team members and trade partners

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 trained, preferred

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Safety Coordinator: Clark offers a total compensation package that includes base salary, bonus potential, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health benefits (medical and dental plans), paid time off (vacation, sick and holiday), financial benefits (retirement plan with both match and annual company contribution, life insurance, short and long term disability, and commuter benefits). Additional benefits include fitness reimbursement, healthcare and dependent care pre-tax spending plans, tuition reimbursement, back-up daycare and family support benefits, EAP, work life assistance and a holiday contribution program. Base salaries will be determined by factors such as geographic location, education, skills, experience, and market considerations. For this role the base salary range is $67K-95K.

Employment Information

Construction work requires strenuous physical activity. The essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to, walking on uneven surfaces, climbing several flights of stairs or ladders uninterrupted, working at extensive heights, lifting 50 pounds, repetitive lifting, working a minimum of 40 hours per week, working outdoors as required, seeing with clarity (naturally or with correction), having accurate depth perception and acceptable peripheral vision, and hearing sufficiently (naturally or with correction) to respond to verbal instruction, warning bells, and alarms.
