Uber Order Management, Manager in San Francisco, California

This is a hybrid role (in office 50% of the time), and you must be located in or willing to relocate to San Francisco, Dallas, or Chicago.

About the Role

As an integral part of our Order to Cash (O2C) team, the Order Management, Manager will play a critical role in overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end order management and billing processes. This role requires a keen eye for detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless order processing and accurate billing. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in order management, billing, and a strong understanding of corporate finance principles.

What You'll Do

Order Processing and Management:

  • Lead the order management & billing process for new Ads products, partnership deal types, and other LOBs coming into OTC scope.

  • Collaborate with tech and engineering teams to automate customer onboarding, contract review, order generation, and billing.

Billing:

  • Oversee billing operations, including invoice generation and T&Cs accuracy. Once completed, the invoice delivery team will send out invoices to our B2B Customers in a timely manner.

  • Work closely with Sales to reconcile billing discrepancies, eliminate disputes and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

  • Ensure successful hand off and collaboration of billable data to local e-invoicing teams.

Management:

  • You will closely work with the BPO organization to ensure best in class results are achieved on this OTC Module while ensuring Customer satisfaction and Stakeholder alignment

  • Development of Order Management & Billing team into subject matter experts for Ads and Partnership deals.

Process Enhancement and Optimization:

  • Identify opportunities to improve Order Management & Billing, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Collaborate with FinTech and Engineering teams to evaluate, enhance, or implement systems and tools to streamline order management and billing workflows.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Develop and maintain KPIs and metrics related to order management and billing processes, providing regular reports and insights to leadership.

  • Analyze data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for cost reduction or revenue enhancement.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional experience

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience in Accounting or Finance related field

  • Previous experience in Process Improvement, BPO Management, ERP Implementation

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional experience in Order Management, Billing, or a similar role within OTC operations, including leading and managing a sizable team.

  • Extensive experience in collaborating cross-functionally, specifically in interfacing partnerships with Sales Operations or related departments to drive synchronized and efficient workflows.

  • Excellent communication skills, and evidenced ability to communicate with varied audiences in making the complex simple. Proven track record in consulting and influencing with internal business clients, external customers, and a wide range of external service providers, including Business Process Outsourced (BPO)

  • A sharp sense of the broader picture, the ability to think strategically and connect the end-to-end scope to design ad hoc process and Policies to support in a fluid and efficient way the aspirations and strategies of the LOBs

  • Compelling leadership capabilities evidenced by the ability to gain the trust of partners, negotiate with, influence, and motivate a diverse group of partners of varying levels

  • Experience working in a high-growth, high-volume organization

  • Familiarity with ERP and OTC software solutions such as Oracle, Salesforce etc.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced expertise in Excel

  • Strong understanding of internal controls, including Sarbanes Oxley compliance

  • Experience or active exposure to advanced technologies e.g., Machine Learning, AI, RPA etc. is a must

  • Expertise in SQL with demonstrable expertise in writing complex queries, stored procedures, and functions across multiple database systems

  • Certification in relevant areas (e.g., Six Sigma, Project Management) is a plus.

For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$114,000 per year - USD$127,000 per year. For Dallas, TX-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$114,000 per year - USD$127,000 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$127,000 per year - USD$141,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
