About the role

We at CBRE are currently seeking a Net Zero Program Manager. This position will support the measurable reduction of embodied carbon across a global fleet of hyperscale data centers in an effort to reach our client’s Net Zero goals! You will provide technical and administrative support to the Net Zero Team. This includes tasks such as data collection and analysis, report writing, and outreach. A solid understanding of industrial building construction, building design engineering / architecture, and very strong experience in measuring embodied carbon and related sustainability principles

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with architects, building engineers, general contractors, and other external collaborators to provide guidance and implement strategies that will significantly reduce or eliminate carbon emissions.

  • Work with general contractors to track construction-related purchases per project

  • Estimate the embodied and non-embodied carbon emissions associated with each data center project

  • Establish data infrastructure and maintain large data sets for the tracking material purchases and respective GHGs

  • Help ensure that all materials used for construction have a linked EPD collecting their embodied GHG footprint

  • Develop a mechanism to match purchases to EPDs in EC3 (or other repository) to calculate as built emissions

  • Help develop an embodied GHG reduction plan for Google data center projects

  • Conduct post-construction evaluations to assess the efficiency of sustainability measures and find opportunities for future improvements.

  • Collaborate with the vendor management team(s) to report on progress towards sustainability requirements and see opportunities for improvement.

  • Develop and implement measurement strategies to support the deployment of sustainable building materials.

  • • Develop methodology to forecast emissions based on purchased data

  • • Engage with and track vendor (A/E and GC) corporate sustainability ambitions and targets, GHG footprints and reporting history.

  • • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure that sustainable design and construction practices are coordinated throughout the project lifecycle.

  • • Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials to communicate project status, results, and recommendations to clients and partners.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Science, Architecture or related field.

  • 7 or more years of solid experience within environmental compliance and sustainability, with specific experience in data center construction or similar large-scale construction projects.

  • Knowledge of applicable environmental regulations, standards, and best practices related to construction, including air quality, water quality, soil, waste management, and other environmental aspects.

  • Experience in contract management, including negotiation, review, and administration of contracts related to environmental services.

  • Strong analytical skills, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to communicate complex environmental concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and results-oriented mentality.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Net Zero Program Manager position is $120,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Net Zero Program Manager position is $150,00 annually . The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
