Description

Reporting into the Associate Director of Finance and Planning, the Manager of Finance and Planning is responsible for the overall financial management. In coordination with Senior Director of Finance and Planning, this position will be responsible for monthly invoicing of all grants and contracts in accordance with funder requirements. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of all invoices, promoting prompt payment from funders.

  • Assist the Senior Director of Finance & Planning (F& P) and CFO in developing the annual agency budget and periodic financial forecasts (monthly or quarterly).

  • Support the Senior Director of F& P in managing program and agency budgets, aiming to maximize revenue and identify areas for improvement and cost savings.

  • Use financial modeling in coordination with the Senior Director of F& P to simulate scenarios and forecasts, presenting potential outcomes to the CFO/management team to avoid financial pitfalls and recommend solutions for improved financial health.

  • Collaborate with Program and Administrative Directors under the Senior Director of F& P’s supervision to drive continuous improvements in financial management.

  • Conduct monthly financial assessments with each Director and generate reports for the CFO and senior management team.

  • Work with the Senior Controller to ensure financial records' accuracy and compliance with financial regulations and accounting principles.

  • Partner with the Development department and Senior Controller to ensure restricted donations are spent per donor restrictions, and reports to funders are accurate and timely.

  • Assist the Senior Director of F& P in coordinating compliance audits from public and private agencies.

  • Work with the Senior Controller and finance team to ensure successful financial audits for the company and its affiliates.

  • Manage additional tasks as assigned.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (MBA preferred).

  • Advanced quantitative and Excel skills required.

  • Experience in grants management and/or financial planning and budgeting.

  • Prior experience in budget and contract monitoring is a plus.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite software and Outlook.

  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • At least 5 years of leadership experience, including staff selection, training, development, performance evaluations, progressive discipline, and collaboration with Senior Leadership and HR.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, initiative, and motivation.

  • Capable of communicating complex information clearly, both verbally and in writing.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Collaborative team player and supportive colleague.
