Amergis Mammography Technologist for Imaging Center, Trave in San Francisco, California

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic radiographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate

  • Explains mammography procedure to all patients; answers any patient questions or concerns

  • Positions patients, using immobilization when necessary

  • Calculates exposure factors, and assist physicians

  • Performs the quality control functions related to mammography

  • Evaluates radiographs for diagnostic quality obtaining additional images as needed

  • Prepares and sets up medical supplies using aseptic techniques if appropriate. Explains procedures to patients prior to start and ongoing

  • Develops mammography film and match with the appropriate paperwork for interpretation

  • Assists in maintenance and compilation of statistical data

  • Adheres to all Amergis and worksite rules, policies and procedures

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current State License or Certificate in state where they will be working

  • One (1) year of experience as a Mammography Technician preferred.

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to accurately communicate with patients

  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable

  • Current CPR if applicable

  • TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site

  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements

  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required

  • Computer proficiency required

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
