Position Overview
Are you excited by leading a team to solve technical challenges that come with building a scalable, available, performant platform used by millions of users worldwide? Come join us at Autodesk! Autodesk's DXC engineering team is seeking a hands-on, experienced engineering manager to lead a team and driven engineers who will build the Autodesk's next generation. You will report into one of the senior leaders in the DXC team.
This position is located in the Bay Area and is a Hybrid role.
*Responsibilities *
Lead, manage and mentor a large team of software engineers
Strong problem-solving skills (data structures and algorithms)
Provide insight, feedback, and recommendations to senior management regarding the development, capabilities, and potential of our software projects
Identify efficiency opportunities through automation, engineering
Work with architects, product owners, experienced teams to move toward a common vision
Active expert contributing to product and business strategy
Provide leadership to achieve a high software engineering standard, including quality, security, resiliency
Manage the planning, execution, and success of complex technical projects
Attract, Hire, and grow top engineering talent
Collaborate with geographically dispersed team and team members
Understanding of serverless software architecture, best practices, workflows, and troubleshooting
Build platform capabilities with API's and best sw engineering principals
Know how to build and guide teams while inspiring them to remain at the cutting edge
Excel at both mentoring junior software engineers and guiding more senior engineers
*Minimum Qualifications *
BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience (MS in Computer Science or a related degree)
8+ years of relevant industry experience, with 5+ years of hands-on technical leadership and 3+ years of people management experience
Experience working with remote teams and other cross-functional stakeholders
Experience in an engineering or technical role delivering software solutions
Hands-on experience with important technologies such as Java, Node.js, React, and CI/CD technologies
Experience with Scrum and Agile development processes and methodologies
Experience managing and resolving complex and ambiguous issues
Know how to implement and have on your team's vision
Experience building and maintaining a successful working relationship with Product Management and UX Design teams
Preferred Qualifications
Can inspire a team to do great things and work with their development and career progression
Advanced knowledge of public cloud service platforms including Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Knowledge of React, Spring is an additional plus

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $145,800 and $235,950. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
