DoorDash Director, Supplier Risk and Reporting in San Francisco, California

About the Team

The Global Supplier Strategy and Risk Team at DoorDash is responsible for aligning effective supplier sourcing and risk strategies with long-term business goals. This team conducts the business process to analyze, review, and implement strategies that maximize the value of our many supplier relationships.

About the Role

The Director, Supplier Risk and Reporting will be part of the Global Strategic Sourcing team. This high cross functional foundational role will own the continued development and implementation of a robust Supplier Risk and Reporting function, globally. You will start as an individual contributor with the opportunity to build a team of strategic and operational risk practitioners based on business needs. You will own and be accountable for collaborating with and influencing leaders and operators across the company to set policy, communicate standards, report on business risk and provide mitigation best practices as needed.

You will report our Head of Supplier Strategy, Risk & Travel within the DoorDash Finance organization. We are open to you working out of a local DoorDash hub office in the United States, or working remotely, based in the United States.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Design and implement a comprehensive supplier risk management program aligned with the organization’s strategic goals and global regulatory requirements. Scope to include the establishing of policies, frameworks, and governance to identify, assess, mitigate, and monitor risks associated with supplier relationships.

  • Serve as the Directly Responsible Individual for all supplier risk related activities within a distributed, federated risk mitigation model, ensuring alignment with senior leadership and stakeholders across cross functional teams including but not limited to Privacy, Security, Internal Audit, etc.

  • Develop and own a roadmap for a comprehensive, continuously improving, supplier risk and reporting program. This includes the formation of a supplier data platform (data lake) that brings together risk, commercial and financial data to drive key insights for the function.

  • Oversee and continuously improve policies, tools and processes for supplier due diligence, risk assessment, and ongoing monitoring.

  • Analyze supplier risk exposure and provide actionable insights to mitigate potential risks.

  • Ensure all suppliers comply with relevant laws, regulations, and DoorDash policies.

  • Potential to recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing supplier risk and reporting team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Provide training and education to internal stakeholders to enhance understanding of supplier risk management.

  • 12+ years of experience in enterprise risk management, compliance, audit, or a related field, with a focus on supplier risk.

  • Demonstrated success in building and scaling risk management programs in fast-paced, high-visibility environments.

  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, industry standards, and best practices for supplier risk management.

  • Proven leadership skills, including experience leading and influencing cross-functional teams and managing diverse stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

  • Proficiency in risk management software, analytics tools, and reporting platforms.

Compensation

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.

In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographical market up to our highest geographical market within the United States.
