Description
Roberthalf is seeking a dynamic Software Development Manager with a strong technical background and leadership experience to oversee the development and delivery of cutting-edge web applications and AI projects. This role demands a hands-on subject matter expert (SME) in web development and familiarity with solving real-world problems through AI, with a preference for candidates who understand government operations and can effectively navigate vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the SME for web development, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of frameworks, particularly the.NET framework and Microsoft technologies.
Lead and manage projects that address practical challenges, working independently to drive innovation and achieve measurable outcomes.
Collaborate with DevOps and other stakeholders to optimize development processes and project delivery.
Oversee knowledge transfer, manage vendor relationships, and transition contractors as necessary to align with project goals.
Work towards scaling the team by building a high-performing development group. Start as an individual contributor and transition into a leadership role.
Engage with boards of directors, stakeholders, and internal politics to drive initiatives and align goals.
Requirements
Qualifications:
5–7 years of industry experience, with a proven track record in leadership roles involving complex technical projects.
Demonstrated expertise in web application development, with a strong foundation in the .NET framework and a "Microsoft-first" approach.
Experience with Sitecore and portals for applications is a plus.
Familiarity with mapping technologies like Mapbox and Azure Maps, along with AI-based features such as translation services.
Previous experience working with government agencies or contracts is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of knowledge transfer processes, vendor management, and organizational change.
Exposure to board-level communication and political acumen in managing stakeholders is a significant advantage.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working with AI technologies and implementing solutions that solve real-world problems without external support.
Knowledge of DevOps principles and practices, with the ability to collaborate effectively with DevOps teams.
