Uber Counsel, Uber for Business in San Francisco, California

We are looking for an exceptional lawyer to join the Uber for Business legal team who specializes in advising growing, fast-moving enterprise sales organizations. This role requires tremendous commercial drafting and negotiating skills as well as an ability (or demonstrated interest) to also advise on the product development life cycle.

What You'll Do:

  • Handle the review, drafting, and negotiation of a wide variety of contracts including, but not limited to, marketing and promotional agreements, advertising and commercial agreements, strategic relationships, and other business and product matters.

  • Partner with product teams to understand product, engineering, design, and operational implications of new Uber for Business product launches and initiatives.

  • Review products, features, and initiatives related to Uber for Business.

  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in the US and Canada Mobility legal team and other legal teams, such as Employment, Privacy, IP, and Marketing, to provide comprehensive advice, and solve legal problems quickly for the teams you support.

  • Draft terms and conditions, FAQs, legal disclaimers, and other policies governing the use of Uber products and services.

  • Create and implement policies and practices to ensure consistent implementation of legal guidance and alignment on risks.

Basic Qualifications

  • J.D. and license to practice law in at least one state.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of legal experience in private practice and/or in-house

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least two (2) years of in-house experience is highly preferred.

  • History of driving efficient and strategic use of resources, including technical groups, in-house counsel, vendors, and outside counsel.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and highly collaborative with both business leaders and legal groups, with a strong ability to build relationships, gain credibility, and partner across functions to build consensus.

  • Clear communicator, team orientated, and willing to take initiative while thinking two steps ahead.

  • Confidence and flexibility to operate in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.

  • Passionate about your work and a desire to have a big impact.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
