The Carrier System Engineering team at Apple supports these efforts side by side with our Carrier Sales organization working with our largest partners like Verizon, ATT, & T-Mobile. Together we deliver on the promise of the Apple platform to B2B customers and have the resources and knowledge to meet our mutual customer’s needs.

Description

The Carrier System Engineer solves technical and business problems with our Carrier partners to ensure success for both Apple and its customers. We provide both technical pre-sales and consultation to ensure our Carrier partners are prepared to deliver best-in-class Apple practices and solutions for B2B customers at scale, with the goal of transforming the way people work. The role of the Carrier System Engineer is to deeply understand the Carrier business (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile) and their technical ambitions, and be the trusted advisor to enhance sales revenue and ensure customer happiness. We help remove technical barriers and friction points, and improve customer readiness for our platform. Additionally, we provide technical mentorship and enablement to thousands of Carrier B2B sellers and technical teams in the US along with their B2B customers Carrier System Engineering operates as an extension of Carrier sales teams focused on the architecture, validation, implementation, and sustainment of Apple devices for our shared customer. The ideal carrier system engineer brings unmatched expertise and delivers a variety of Apple planning, architecture, and sustaining activities such as: - Software update management and patch distribution - Hardware lifecycle testing, validation, and change control - Device management policy design, testing, and implementation - Security systems architecture, implementation, and compliance - Enterprise software, cellular, and network integration - Cloud based Identity Provider (Okta, MSFT Entra, Google) Integration - Strategic project leadership across multiple vendors and teams - Systems fixing and reporting

Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidates will have strong technical backgrounds (10+ years) and able to educate and explain complex problems in simplified terms, tailored to their audience, at all levels of the business.

  • Experience with evaluating sophisticated IT enterprise environments (Deployment, Security, SSO, Zero Trust)

  • Background in mobile technology and solutions including Carrier network infrastructure, 5G, Private Networks, Network Slicing, Mobile Device Management, Security Solutions, Unified Communication and how to integrate within those environments.

  • Comprehensive understanding of network services and protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, DMVPN, IPSEC Expert level understanding and practical knowledge of network design for large scale WAN environments demonstrating cellular connectivity

  • Track record advising on technical business transformation solutions for large enterprises or validated experience in a consultative pre-sales engineering role

  • Ability to articulate Apple’s position on Security and Privacy and realize the benefits of security that is built in, not bolted on.

  • Deep familiarity with 3rd party infrastructure products and services from Apple. Jamf, Microsoft, Google, Cisco, Druva, Mosyle, and similar.

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels

  • Where applicable, industry certifications and clearances

  • Exemplary human skills are needed; the successful candidate must excel in written communication and possess excellent video-based and in-person support skills.

  • Able to see what’s ahead and identify trends that will be necessary for growth with our Carrier partners.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 25% - 50% Domestic Travel

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $149,400 and $224,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
