This position involves working on cutting-edge bioinformatics projects, with a focus on data analysis, software development, and deployment. The role includes opportunities to contribute to both backend data processing and frontend data visualization.

Compensation :

  • $40-$50/hour based on qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Analyze large-scale sequencing data from diverse platforms.

  • Test and optimize bioinformatics workflows, comparing outputs under varying configurations.

  • Package software and workflows for distribution using modern tools like Bioconda and container repositories.

  • Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions for automated testing, benchmarking, and performance monitoring.

  • Develop interactive data visualization components for proteomics and multiomics datasets.

  • Deploy web applications (built with frameworks such as Dash, Shiny, or Streamlit) to production environments.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

  • Strong experience with GNU/Linux command line and programming in Python and JavaScript.

  • Proficiency in high-performance computing (HPC) environments and job scheduling systems.

  • Familiarity with bioinformatics workflow management tools like Snakemake or Nextflow.

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and processes.

  • Background in frontend development for data visualization.

Preferred Skills :

  • Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as React, Next.js, Node.js, d3.js, or Tailwind CSS.

  • Familiarity with AnnData and VCF (Variant Cell Format).

  • Academic background in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field.

Experience :

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience in bioinformatics, computational biology, or software development in biotech, academia, or research environments.
