Job Title: Animal Lab TechnicianJob Description

The Animal Technician is responsible for the daily care of animals in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Responsibilities include gathering dirty cages from various areas of the facility, operating the cage wash, composting trash, prepping the cage wash for use, operating the cage wash dirty/clean side, and cleaning the cage wash area. Additional tasks involve moving and storing equipment, assisting with cage change outs and room checks, grounds keeping, sweeping and mopping, removing trash and biohazardous waste from hallways and common areas, maintaining footbaths/mats, removing recycled and compostable items and staging them for pickup, laundering facility scrubs/uniforms, and performing various duties as assigned. Must have their own transportation, and parking is free.

This is a contract position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in San Francisco, California.

Work Environment

The work environment is within a vivarium at the Hunters Point location. There are four total rooms housing rodents. The work environment is fast-paced and considered high volume when it comes to handling rodents. Shift: Monday - Friday, 7am to 3:30pm with potential for weekend and holiday work based on operational needs. Must have their own transportation.
