Description

Robert Half is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our client's Finance team.

What You’ll Do:

● Oversee core accounting processes including month-end close, financial statement preparation, variance analysis and reconciliations, AP, AR, and tax filings.

● Ensure accuracy of financial statements

● Maintain and improve our accounting software systems, in partnership with the Finance, Accounting, Business Operations and Software Engineering teams, and, when needed, with external implementation partners

● Partner with CFO and Director of Accounting on writing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures and maintaining appropriate controls.

● Manage our team, which consists of one Senior Accountant and two offshore Accounting Coordinators

Requirements

What You Have:

● 5-8+ years of combined experience in operational and technical accounting; 2-3 years of accounting experience at a national firm is preferred.

● Project-based accounting experience, including percentage completion.

● Construction-based accounting experience, including both fee-building and primary homebuilding (both on-balance-sheet and through consolidated SPVs) and related intercompany financial management processes.

● Fund accounting experience, including preparing monthly reports for investors.

● Strong knowledge of US GAAP, with prior experience completing a financial audit to AICPA standard; PCAOB and IPO experience a plus.

● Track record of driving results through exceptional execution of accounting, for example improving and maintaining time to cash and close.

● Instinctive need to improve and automate any process you touch (with support!).

● Strong analytical skills, including in spreadsheets such as Excel/Google Sheets

● Strong attention to detail with the ability to proactively identify and solve problems.

● Management aptitude with a history of supporting team growth and development.

● Impeccable integrity.

● Desire to work in a rapidly growing and collaborative startup, and alignment with our mission to make it faster, easier, and more cost-efficient to build homes.

● Comfort with the ambiguity and changing priorities typical of a startup.

● Familiarity with NetSuite; experience with implementing NetSuite, or working with project/vendor/billing management software such as Procore, is a plus.

● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

● CPA, or interest in pursuing certification
