King Technologies, Inc is looking for a Technical Writer to Prepare technical documentation packages for a DoD network computing environment.
Position Summary/Description:
The candidate will be responsible for generating, revising, and maintain configuration management of technical documents including user manuals, software requirements specifications (SRS), configuration management plan (CMP), interface and design documents; as well as programmatic documents such as standard operating procedures (SOP), process and workflow documents and forms. This position may e cross trained as an Ops/Install Technician to perform rack integration and related activities in support of the programs.
Essential Duties:
Technical Writers are responsible for:
Transfer data from paper formats into digital files or databases.
Create spreadsheets and presentations, combining various data from existing files.
Maintain digital files.
Transcribe notes from technical reviews and management meetings into a digital format.
Must be able to interact with all levels of technical and management personnel.
High level of focus for detail and organization
Cross training for the Ops team/Install technician position may consist of:
Handling front desk duties, security, and open/close responsibilities for labs 160, 339, and 314.
Providing physical and Operational security to the DICE labs.
Controlling physical access to each lab verifying "right to access" for each individual thru a maintained database.
Controlling flow of equipment in/out of the lab (1149 documentation).
Maintaining inventory of equipment/media.
Scanning and documenting all inbound media for viruses.
Opening/closing labs.
Providing logistical support for tours.
Setting up of furniture in the lab/configuration for test events.
Qualifications Required:
DoD Secret Security Clearance
Associate degree in English, Business, or Technical Writing or equivalent experience.
Experience with Desktop Publishing programs.
