Deloitte Tax Communications Lead Specialist in San Diego, California

As a Communications Lead Specialist supporting Deloitte's fast-paced, complex, and growing Tax business you will have opportunities and grow professionally and put these skills to use by working closely with your colleagues on the Tax Communications team, as well as with senior leaders and subject matter experts in Deloitte's Tax practice.

What you'll do:

As a member of the Tax Communications team, you will manage communications channels, programs, and strategies. You will flex your creativity by developing messages to engage Tax professionals, with a goal of fostering meaningful connections to the Tax practice and firm and supporting leadership strategies and the needs of our people.

How you'll do it:

  • Collaborate with Tax Communications team and Tax leaders to develop and implement strategic, long-term internal and external communication plans and campaigns, and develop final deliverables that meet the needs of the client and target audience.

  • Brainstorm in messaging and strategy sessions with Communications & Marketing colleagues and Tax stakeholders, providing input on creative assets for communication plans.

  • Craft timely, business-wide internal communications deliverables in support of Tax strategic priorities, including Quality & risk, and Finance & Operations.

  • Develop, edit, and manage distribution of the biweekly Tax newsletter to professionals.

  • Support and manage special projects as assigned, such as recognition campaigns, survey implementation, and events.

  • Provide operational support to the Tax Communications team, through management of distributions, webcasts, intranet, metrics, and video creation.

  • Apply and develop superb organizational and project managements skills by keeping projects on track and ensuring timely delivery of communications activities.

  • Develop and maintain communications processes and protocols and associated documentation for use by team and internal stakeholders.

  • Develop trusted advisor relationships and provide communications counsel to key internal clients, including leaders within Tax.

Who we are looking for:

  • Communications professional with a minimum of 5 plus years relevant experience in corporate communications.

  • A Bachelor's degree, preferably in Communications, English, Business, Public Relations, Marketing, or Journalism.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint: specifically, on presentation, design, and storytelling).

  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously with great attention to detail.

  • Writing experience in either an internal communications, public relations, or marketing environment.

  • Conceptual, strategic, and creative thinker with a curious mindset and a passion for writing, storytelling, and the willingness to learn from others.

  • Experience working collaboratively in a virtual environment with team members across multiple offices/locations.

  • Excellent editing and/or copy editing and proofreading skills; knowledge of editorial style.

  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • High level of professionalism and business acumen.

  • Comfortable and skilled at engaging with leaders.

  • Ability to connect dots and offer strategic communications counsel.

  • Strong knowledge of internal/external communications strategic practices.

  • Experience with email measurement platforms preferred

  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.

  • Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $80,400 to $148,000.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
