Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$60.265 - $77.761 - $95.258

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.

This position oversees the following Sharp Rees-Stealy Radiology locations:

  • Downtown San Diego - 300 Fir St. San Diego

  • Otay Ranch - 1400 E. Palomar St. Chula Vista

  • Chula Vista Main - 525 Third Ave. Chula Vista

What You Will Do

Responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of Radiology Department. Supervises and coordinates technical staff; to include technical leads, budget, and evaluations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT)

  • Satisfactory completion of formal Radiology training in AMA approved school and meets the requirements by ARRT and CRT continuing education or certificates in other areas of specialization (i.e. Mammography, Fluoro, MRI and CT).

  • 2 Years Supervisory experience.

  • 3 Years Technical experience.

Essential Functions

  • ComplianceDirects service provided by technologists and/or technicians ensuring compliance with established protocols and Policies and Procedures.

  • Daily operationsMaintains adequate inventory levels supplies, small and capital equipment and provides adequate timely documentation and justification for maintenance requests (3 to 5 documented exceptions).

  • Human resource managementPerforms Performance Appraisals of technical Radiology staff. Submits evaluation to MC Manager three weeks prior to due date.Assist MC Manager with fiscal budgeting process and program development. Submits appropriate documentation and justification for departmental needs. (1 to 2 documented exceptions)

  • New programsResponsible for start up of new programs - developing systems, policies and procedures for technical aspects of the Radiology Department, Regional Medical Center.Assist Manager with implementations and maintaining projects while staying within budget.Support, implement, and follow through with rounding and documentation on all patient care improvement programs, tools, survey review and role modeling for staff.

  • Teamwork and trainingCoordinating orientation and training of the technical staff.Scheduling and coordinating day-to-day staffing of technical personnel.Establishing optimal schedules, scanning protocols, and billing checks for CT and MRI patients.Establishing procedures and standards that promote optimal levels of patient and staff safety.Advocating the goals and interests of Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group, especially with regard to interactions with sales and service representatives of all Medical Systems.Working cooperatively with the department clerical supervisor/representative to ensure appropriate clerical support of the Radiology Department.Implements a well-defined QA program for all modalities.
