JOB SUMMARY:

This position serves as the supervisor of the direct care staff: leading, developing, coordinating, and engaging the team in support of daily operations. Implements and evaluates the departments orientation and education program under the direction of the Leadership team and in accordance with regulatory requirements for long term care. Facilitates orientation of all new employees and coordinates with leadership to support job training, partnering new employee with appropriate discipline for training. Coordinates annual competency and proficiency training as needed working with leadership to ensure team members maintain proficiency in all clinical areas. Responsible for inservice training of direct care staff per regulatory requirements. This individual also serves as the Infection Control Practitioner (ICP) for the long-term care unit working closely with the Director of Nursing and Infection Control Department to implement the Infection Control Plan each year. Includes implementation, monitoring, education, training, coordination, auditing, quality improvement processes to maintain a high level of infection control compliance throughout the unit.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

H.S. Diploma,GED,or Equivalent

2 Years of Experience

BLS for Health Providers (AHA) upon hire and BLS Instructor (AHA) within 12 months of hire

Licensed Vocational Nurse

Infection Control Practitioner Certification within 12 months of hire

Staff Development Certification from the State of California within 12 months of hire date

Two years of clinical experience working as an LVN

Proficient with Microsoft Office programs and healthcare–related software applications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate's Degree

Experience working with physicians in a clinical office setting

The expected hiring range for this position is $35.84 to $49.28
