Robert Half Staff Accountant in San Diego, California

Description

Our commitment to innovation and excellence drives our success, and we are looking for a talented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our organization. This position involves a variety of accounting tasks, including preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.

  • Assist in month-end and year-end close processes.

  • Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.

  • Prepare and file tax returns and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.

  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.

  • Monitor and analyze financial performance and report on variances.

  • Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the management.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar accounting role.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
