Robert Half Staff Accountant in San Diego, California

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our client's finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting in monthly closings, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.

  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and other financial statements.

  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.

  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.

  • Support the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.

  • Assist with audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain organized financial documentation and support data accuracy.

  • Collaborate with team members to identify and implement process improvements.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 1-3 years of accounting experience or internship experience in a similar role.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP).

  • High attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred:

  • CPA or working towards certification.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems or financial reporting tools.
