Actalent Software Test Development Engineer in San Diego, California

Job Title: Software Test Development EngineerJob Description

As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will work with a global team of SDETs to automate manual processes, maximize test infrastructure usage, and accelerate testing. You will develop software tools such as dashboards, data parsers, Automated UI flows, and data analysis tools to drive automated test infrastructure that operates 24/7 globally. You will report to the V&V Engineering manager and will be responsible for developing automation for the validation of new features released in the SDK.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with SDK development engineering to gather requirements and design the required automated test suites for features in the SDK.

  • Work with other engineers on designing, developing, debugging, and maintaining automated tests for mobile SDK testing (Android and iOS).

  • Develop automation using XCUITest and/or Espresso for native testing on Android and iOS devices.

  • Develop tests in Python and Kotlin for validating APIs in the SDK.

  • Use Appium to develop UI automation and integrate with APIs to record test results and TestRail.

  • Engage in processes and mechanisms (Code reviews, CI/CD, unit testing, code coverage, etc.) to ensure the team produces high-quality code with the required documentation.

  • Develop automation solutions to speed up test execution and data analysis for the Verification and Validation teams.

Essential Skills

  • Strong coding skills in Python (Android) or Kotlin (iOS).

  • Experience with Espresso/Kotlin and/or XCUITest automation for mobile Android and iOS devices.

  • Experience using Appium for automation and mobile app testing.

  • Experience using TestRail for test records and Jira for defect tracking.

  • 3 to 10 years of experience in software testing and development.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Python automation.

  • Familiarity with cloud services (AWS/GCP).

  • Medical device testing or development experience.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.

Work Environment

Hybrid schedule with 1-2 days onsite in San Diego. Prefer local candidates or candidates in PST.
