Insight Global Power Supply Design Engineer in San Diego, California
Job Description
A client in the defense industry is looking to add an Power Supply Design Engineer to their team onsite in San Diego, CA! This person will be responsible for the design and development of power supplies for RF and microwave assemblies. They will perform schematic capture, circuit design, derating and Worst-Case Analysis. They will also present ideas to the team and support design reviews, testing and overseeing the design through to production.

Skills and Requirements
BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required and at least 9 years of Power Supply design experience. MS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with at least 7 years of Power Supply experience.
Experience to include significant design and development of isolated and non-isolated Buck, Boost, Forward, Flyback, half Bridge or Full Bridge Converters.
Ability to troubleshoot subassemblies to the component level.
Ability to independently develop test procedures and conduct design verification testing. Test experience to include temperature, inrush, load and line variation, pulse loading for stability and any other testing needed to meet the space environment. Knowledge of bench level test equipment is a must.
Experience/expertise with design and test for EMI (Electromagnetic Interface).
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience within the aerospace industry.
Familiarity with transmitter and receiver architecture and design.
Strong simulation experience with some of these tools: PSPICE, INTERSIL ISIN, LTSPICE, OrCAD, PADs
Requires a good understanding of EMI/EMC requirements and implementation methods to meet product requirements.
Experience with the challenges associated with designing space qualified hardware and an understanding of analog and IC circuit design are preferred.
Ability to complete design/project goals with little to no technical supervision. null
