Summary

Applies expertise in the Printed Circuit board industry. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires and in-depth evaluation of various factors. Incumbents are accountable for quality of work delivered by external suppliers as applicable. Incumbents have decision-making authority and autonomy to deliver on goals of team. Influences others outside of team to ensure goals are met and resolves conflicts in an effective manner. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve goals results in additional costs and serious delays in overall schedules of a site and/or regional function. May lead a multi-functional work group or project team consisting of one or more support staff and/or tech/professional staff, or may provide advice and guidance in area of specialty. May determine new methods and procedures. Seeks out new avenues for building internal and external relationships; maintains contacts with existing relationships. Interfaces with senior managers on issues related to the area of expertise. Interacts with and influences management and/or customers on significant issues.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Maintains responsibility for global negotiations of the Printed Circuit board commodity and/or expert in this specific field or commodity.

  • Develops competitive advantage for Celestica by leveraging multiple suppliers globally or developing strategic initiatives.

  • Work with a global teams on benchmarks for commodity performance and strategies for global corporate commodity negotiations.

  • Leads negotiations for high impact Aerospace and defense PCB commodity. Providing guidance on negotiations strategy and negotiations planning, developing a commodity strategy, and presentations / communication consistent message to suppliers.

  • Acts as commodity consultant to identify and manage strategic SCM initiatives.

  • Maintains global or regional responsibility for a strategic and/or high dollar commodity or group of commodities for price/value determination, product and/or service negotiations, terms and conditions, supplier relationship development and performance feedback.

  • Provides guidance and support throughout world-wide sourcing process.

  • Provides site direction and performance reporting for cost analysis to senior management.

  • Assists in team development and planning, recruitment/first line candidate selection and screening, developing training plan for new employees, mentoring new employees.

  • Leads negotiations for high impact commodities, providing guidance on negotiations strategy and negotiations planning, developing a commodity strategy, and presentations / communication consistent message to suppliers.

  • Quarterly negotiations and long term LTA agreements.

  • Onsite meetings and supplier audits.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Must be able to view and understand ITAR drawing and data.

  • Must be able to have both CGP and ITAR clearance.

  • Expert knowledge of the Printed Circuit board industry. Marketplace conditions, including industry pricing, technology, supply/demand and emerging trends .

  • Strong knowledge of the manufacturing process and ability to troubleshoot quality issues.

  • Understanding of Gerber/ODB++ data and how to read fab drawings.

  • Excellent knowledge of Celestica’s global supply chain including strategic policies and objectives.

  • SAP experience

  • Strong understanding of global business environment and Customers business, organization, products and processes.

  • Expert knowledge of office systems and analytical tools

  • Ability to lead complex negotiations effectively.

  • Ability to evaluate, prioritize and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.

  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.

  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

  • Occasional overnight travel is required.

Typical Experience

  • Eight plus years of experience

Typical Education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field (Commerce or Engineering), or equivalent combination of education and experience.Educational requirements may vary by geography

Salary Range: $99k-$154k Annually

Location: This is a remote position, with travel as necessary. We are open to considering candidates close to any of our US locations in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Texas, Arizona, Oregon or California as well as locations near major airports such as the Northeast, Southeast, Midwest and Pacific Coast.
