Rady Children's Hospital San Diego Nurse Practitioner (NP), Solid Organ Transplant Coordinator - Kidney Transplant in San Diego, California
JOB SUMMARY:
The Nurse Practitioner, Solid Organ Transplant Coord provides comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation to patients and their families. This key position also functions as a clinical leader and educator in collaboration with physicians, nurses and others on the health care team. The Nurse Practitioner, Solid Organ Transplant Coord responsibilities include all phases of the transplant process from initial referral through outpatient follow up. This position will be responsible for providing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, planning,implementation, and evaluation to pediatric solid organ transplant candidates and recipients. The
Responsibilities include:
-Coordination of an interdisciplinary medical care delivery system under the direction of the Medical Director
-Serving as a liaison between patients, family, medical staff, referring physicians, and insurance companies
-Developing and providing individualized patient/family teaching
-Providing ongoing assessment of appropriate nursing interventions for effective use of resources and quality assurance
-Demonstrating knowledge of and compliance with Organ Procurement and Transportation Network
(OPTN) policies and Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations
The Nurse Practitioner supports the philosophies of the department and is evaluated by nursing and medical staff. The Nurse Practitioner also performs under standardized procedures within the organ transplant services per Medical Staff privileges.
This position is expected to regularly be available on-call as an exempt employee (i.e. not eligible for a standby pay differential).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree
1 Year of Experience
BLS for Health Providers (AHA)
California RN License
NP Furnisher, State of CA
National Provider Identifier
Nurse Practitioner, CA
Ped Adv Life Support Prov(AHA)
Successfully complete the credentialing process through Medical Staff Services
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
2 Years of Experience
Pediatric NATCO Cert
National Certification in specialty area as a Nurse Practitioner
Two years experience in clinical nursing with emphasis in specialty area
Experience in specialty area as a Nurse Practitioner
Pediatric Nephrolgy, dialysis and or kidney transplant experience prefered.
The expected hiring range for this position is $74.51 to $102.45
