Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$71.450 - $92.194 - $112.938

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.

What You Will Do

Bachelors prepared nurse who applies clinical expertise in evidence-based nursing practice within a specialty area and functions in the following areas: education, consultation, resource management, leadership, research and professional development.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

  • 2 Years Clinical expert in specialty area.

  • California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing

  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Nursing

  • Previous educator experience.

Essential Functions

  • ConsultationFacilitates and enhances performance improvement.Guides staff in career development, advancement of nursing practice and adoption of evidence based practices.Mentors other professionals.Liaisons with nursing school faculty to facilitate positive student nurse experience.

  • EducatorAssist nursing personnel in identifying learning needs planning learning activities to meet those needs.Systematically plans & evaluates overall nursing staff development in response to health care trends, regulatory requirements, and organizational strategic priorities.Conducts and communicates comprehensive evaluation of impact of educational activities on learner, patient, and organization.

  • LeadershipServes in expert roles on committees, councils, administrative teams.Incorporates new models, techniques, and theories into nursing professional development and clinical practice.Participates in professional nursing organizations and partners with community organizations and schools.Creates an environment that helps organization meet its mission and vision.Builds relationships and rounds consistently with management, clinical staff and other departments to facilitate the education process and evaluate educational outcomes.

  • Professional developmentFosters a climate which promotes open communication, learning and professional growth.Facilitates the implementation of change at the organizational level.Enhances own professional growth through self-evaluation and setting and meeting own developmental goals.Commits to practice self-care, manage stress, and connect with self and others.

  • Research and evidence-based practiceSupports integration of research into practice.Fosters staff members' knowledge and skill in research/evidence-based practice process.Evaluates outcomes of educational endeavors as profession moves to evidence-based practice.

  • Resource managementContributes to budget for educational activities and monitors actual costs and outcomes.Maintains and secures current records to maximize efficient tracking and monitoring of educational activities and learner requirements.Utilizes administrative, educational, and support personnel to meet the learning and developmental needs of nursing service personnel.Uses quality improvement (DMAIC, root cause analysis, etc.) and nursing process to improve staff's ability to deliver cost effective health care.
