Jacobs Mid-Level Rail/Track Engineer in San Diego, California

As a Rail/Track Engineer based out of Irvine, San Diego or Los Angeles, California, you’ll have the opportunity to design horizontal and vertical track alignments, and trackwork components on a variety of exciting large rail projects across the country. In this position you will be supporting various aspect of track/rail design, calculations and engineering services on both design-build and design-bid-build projects.
Working alongside a team of technicians and engineers, you’ll be responsible for creating drawings and simulations using software tools and resources supporting our clients’ overall project goals.

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
California Professional Engineer (PE) License or the ability to obtain within 12 months.
At least 5 years of demonstrated professional experience on rail and transit projects.
Professional expertise with Microstation, Power InRail, and OpenRail.
Knowledge of FRA/DOT, AREMA, SCRRA and other local railroad criteria.
Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to assemble plan sets meeting client expectations.
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
Professional expertise with AutoCAD Civil 3D
3D modeling Experience
Experience on both Freight and Commuter Rail project
