Scripps Health Medical Assistant - Internal Medicine - Rancho Bernardo in San Diego, California
This is a benefited, full time position generally working Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. Located at Scripps Clinic Rancho Bernardo. Weekends required on as-needed basis.

Your job duties:
- Predominantly back-office responsibilities but is expected to help with front-office duties on an as-needed basis
- Managing referral process
- Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
- Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
- Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice
- Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
- Collecting patient data in person and by phone
- Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
- Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
- Scheduling of appointments and procedures
- Complete and accurate message taking
- Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
- Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications
- Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics #LI-MR1
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program OR hold a Medical Assistant Certification OR have a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman
- BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience working as Medical Assistant
- Primary Care experience
