Actalent Mechanical Engineer in San Diego, California

Description:

  • Mechanical Designer using NX / Unigraphics to do design, development and engineering

  • Performs mechanical engineering analysis (stress, vibrations, thermal), design for control and distribution of inert and hazardous gases, air and water handling for thermal management of equipment and enclosures, large enclosure design, electrical component packaging, mechanical structural mounts and fixtures, design for manufacturability in low volume products, and design for configuration management.

  • Work with standard and exotic materials, coatings to make parts, simple brackets, multi axis - 3d printed parts. Precision parts so strong with GD&T, tolerance stack up.

  • Design for manufacturing

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • 4-8+ years of experience

  • NX Designer preferred also open to Catia, Solidworks, Pro-e

  • PLM process

  • Aerospace or automotive experience can be relevant. Manufacturing, DFM, design for manufacturing. Precision parts, tolerance analysis, tolerance stack up.

  • Sheetmetal or complex machining experience, material design, understand manufacturing technology.
