The Engineering Technician is a part of the San Diego headquarters consumables Prototyping Services team which provides an organized experiment design platform. As an Engineering Technician you will carry out experiments and collect experimental data. This position will provide opportunities to interact with various project teams and internal partners to rapidly investigate problems, develop countermeasures, and prevent recurrence. A successful candidate will be self-motivated and able to work independently in a team-oriented environment. Responsibilities: • Owns high complexity tasks and problems, with minimal supervision. Able to work on multiple operations and technologies. Able to make process decisions with decision flowchart. Detailed knowledge in specific discipline. Advanced data collection, hands-on skills and able to summarize results. Able to prototype low complexity designs with oversight. Able to help team innovate. Learning to facilitate tools and processes. Able to troubleshoot, with guidance. Able to independently plan and execute multiple parallel activities minimal guidance. Estimates and provides task durations with guidance. Assist in lab logistics and management. Support equipment repair, calibration and other maintenance, as needed. Works effectively in team environment and shares credit for successes. Is receptive to ideas and appreciates alternative backgrounds/perspectives. Establishes relationships within project team and discipline. Have good interpersonal skills. Communication of observations, technical findings, and progress in multi-functional team environments. Interprets communications and anticipates/suggests additional/alternate approaches. Escalate issues to stakeholders as they arise and suggest solutions to minimize downtime Listed responsibilities are an essential, but not exhaustive list, of the usual duties associated with the position. Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Work experience in the biotech, pharmaceutical or semiconductor industries is desirable but not required

  • Experience summarizing data required.

  • Proficient in Office software

  • Good math and analytical skills required

  • Experience with process improvement activities required

  • Good verbal and written documentation skills are required

  • Demonstrated ability to execute medium complexity tasks and experiments with minimal supervision required

  • Must work well in a team environment

  • Troubleshooting experience preferred

  • Experience with wafer-based fabrication or chemistry processes preferred

  • Data mining or programming skills a plus

  • Experience with prototyping in a high-tech industry is a plus

  • Experience with developing consumables processes and products a plus

Experience/Education:

Typically requires a minimum of 2 - 4 years of related experience

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
