Leidos Electrical Technician in San Diego, California
Description
Leidos Maritime System Solutions (MSS) is seeking to hire an Electrical Technician to join our project team in San Diego, CA. The selected candidate will contribute to a world-class team responsible for the development, manufacture and test of electro-mechanical devices for undersea systems and undersea mission applications. Work may involve prototypes, small quantity proof of concept, and low-rate initial production systems. You will be joining a growing, fast-paced research, development, testing and evaluation team at Naval Information Warfare Center, Pacific.
This junior-level position requires the candidate hold a Secret Clearance.
Duties include:
Perform incoming material receiving inspection for circuit card assemblies (CCAs) and wire harnesses
Assemble and rework printed circuit boards with fine-pitch SMT (Surface Mount Technology) components under a microscope.
Set-up and conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering analysis.
Collect, maintain, organize, compile, and manipulate technical data
Work closely with engineering and recommend alternative solutions to problems and challenges.
Provide field service support on an as-needed basis, including support at-sea.
Provide training to more junior technicians.
Requirements :
Capable of reading and understanding mechanical and electrical drawings, specifications, work orders, and test procedures.
Capable of writing work orders and test procedures.
Expertise in soldering (assembly and rework) SMT (Surface Mount Technology) components on printed circuit boards - includes all types of fine-pitch integrated circuits and passive components to 0402 size.
Expertise with the use and operation of standard electronic test equipment; oscilloscopes, meters, frequency generators, etc.
Expertise in integrating, testing, and troubleshooting electro-optical-mechanical systems.
Ability to take initiative in troubleshooting of issues; creativity in determining approach or action to take in non-routine situations.
Competent in use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Project.
Bachelor's degree in related discipline; or AA degree and 2 years of related experience; or High School diploma and 4 years of related experience.
Currently holds a Secret clearance
Desirable Experience/Skills:
Expertise in fiber optics manufacturing.
Prior experience with unmanned underwater vehicles and associated sensors, underwater cables/connectors.
ISO manufacturing experience.
Working knowledge of SolidEdge, VISIO, and LabVIEW tools.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00
